Camera Critters

Hello Everyone! I cannot take credit for the pictures that I chose this week. The pictures were taken in 1938 by my Auntie Violet and Uncle Leo. They were married for more than fifty years and traveled to all 50 States.

The pictures were taken in Yellowstone National Park, but I don't know in which State.

I'm not sure who the lady in the picture above is,
but I'd say she is brave to get out of the car with a bear
in the middle of the road.

Well I hope you have enjoyed the pictures as much as I have. If you have a photo of a critter that you would like to share. Or if you just want to look at other critters, click on the icon above or here.

I hope everyone has a great weekend.

Big and furry - and beautiful! I think the lady who got out of her car was a little crazy.

I'd say that lady was stupid, not brave. That is a BEAR sitting in the road, not a cute little squirrel! Nice photos:)

OOOOH! I wouldn't call her "brave," I'd say she was very silly...and lucky the bear didn't harm her! Good photos though!

I have seen the bears around here but usually hidden in the woods and not hanging out on the roads like that!
A great capture of yesteryears!!

Very 'kewl' photos ... remind me of family visits to Yellowstone and Yosemite and photographs I have 'unscanned' in photo albums. Thanks for sharing. I played at Small Reflections.

Very nice, those were the days when they had allowed the bears to be in the parks, Now they try and make sure they don't come around the campsites.

Those vintage pics are awesome!

The bear was in the park. Doesn't that mean it was tame? LOL!

I really enjoyed these. It makes me want to go back through old photos.

These old photos are magical! The bear has such a powerful sense of presence just lying there in the middle of the road!

How cool for you to have those old photos!!

Great pictures! I hope that bear was alright...I've never seen one just lying in the middle of the road. Maybe that's why the lady got out of her car?

I could not even imagine getting out of my car to take a picture of a bear. Great shots though.

I agree with you that this lady is brave!

Great photos from yesteryear!!

Not sure whether I'd call that lady brave or foolish !!! :-)

I agree, not smart to get out of the car, but then, the bear isn't too smart to be chillin' in the middle of the road either! They both could have ended up with Darwin Awards. But they're great old photos, I love the look of times past about them!

Uh... no way I'd have gotten out of that car. Sheesh!

Neither the people nor the bears have changed, have they?
