Camera Critters

These photos were taken last July at Lily Lake. I seen them in the distance, stopped and got out for a better picture. They spotted me and instead of swimming as far away a possible, like they normal do, they came toward me. I guess they thought I had food for them. I wish I had, but unfortunately, we are not allowed to feed them anymore. They stayed for a little while, but realizing no food was involved, left.

I feel so guilty when ducks do that and swim up to me when I want to take their pictures... so I just throw them blades of grass and they get the hint and off they go! Hehehe....

Great photos!

Hugs♥

I love to watch ducks, and in the spring ducks and ducklings. I grew up with a pond in my backyard, and it was always fun to feed the ducks!

Like Michele, I always feel guilty when I have nothing to feed them. These are cute little guys.

I'm sure the ducks got over their disappointment...eventually. They DO love handouts!

When I see ducks, I like to make them fly away!

We used to be able to feed the ducks at the lake near us. We still cn, but they now have designated feeding ereas and we're only supposed to feed them bird seed.

Isn't it nice to have something come closer for a photograph? Seems like every other creature runs the other way. Happy Critter Day!

VG: What a neat grouping of ducks, certainly expecting food.

Cute pictures. Poor ducks wanted food. I love feeding them but you can't feed them anywhere I go either.

These are lovely images and actually the distance add to the overall feeling. They could be painting the colours are so muted.

I think, that they think, that you have food. lol! :)

It was nice of them to swim closer so you could take their picture. Too bad about not being able to feed them.

Mallards become habituated to feeding quite easily as do many other species. Wildlife purist apparently believe that the only good wildlife is best left alone to be really wild, fleeing at the first hint of human presence and continue to pass laws to make it that way.

These are lovely photos and a great choice for the 1st anniversary of Camera Critters!

Poor disappointed ducks. But at least you got to make some good photos ;-)

They just wanted to make your acquaintance ;-) I always feel so blessed when a critter in nature chooses to come closer rather than run away.
